State Highway 26, near Te Aroha, is closed following a serious crash.

Reports are that a truck has rolled near Rawhiti Road, as you head out of Te Aroha toward Paeroa.

NZTA says the road is blocked in both directions.

"Due to a crash, SH26 is closed between Rawhiti Road, Te Aroha and Rawhiti Road, Tirohia. A detour is in place.

"Please follow the detour and allow for extra travel time."
