Tauranga restaurant Mumbai Masala has been nominated in the People's Choice category in the Menulog Restaurant Awards.

Owner of Mumbai Masala in Tauranga, Deepak Arora, says winning People's Choice would mean a lot to the team who have worked hard through the COVID lockdowns.

'Things are nearly back to normal now but the teamwork has been great throughout the pandemic.

'We think we should win People's Choice because we always provide great service and have been consistent with providing the best quality food in the ten years that we've been here.”

Menulog is encouraging all Kiwis to support their local restaurants by voting for them in this year's Menulog Restaurant Awards.

The winning restaurant will receive a $1000 cash prize and $2500 in advertising, plus one lucky voter will win free Menulog meals for a year.

'There has never been a more important time to support the New Zealand hospitality industry, which has continued to serve local communities throughout an incredibly difficult period,” says Menulog commercial director Rory Murphy.

'The annual Menulog Restaurant Awards are designed to recognise and reward our hardworking restaurant partners, shining a spotlight on some of the country's local food heroes.

'We've added new prizes for restaurants this year that are designed to help them recover and thrive, by not only awarding a cash boost but also developing bespoke local advertising programs to help drive business. We're encouraging all Kiwis to get on board and vote for your favourite restaurants.”

Voting is now open via www.restaurantawards.menulog.co.nz, with up to 10 votes allowed per person and each vote another chance to win.
