Western Bay of Plenty District Council has voted to progress a proposed return of ownership of the eastern end of Matakana Island (Panepane Purakau) to five local hapu. The public has an opportunity to provide feedback on the proposed return. Join an online beginners' carving workshop using soap. As part of the 2020 Tauranga Moana Matariki calendar of events the Incubator Creative Hub is proud to be presenting a series of workshops celebrating Maori artists and their art forms. This series of online tutorials have been made available by support from The Tauranga Creative Communities Scheme.

The Darcy Baker Memorial Hydrofest is being held at the Bay of Plenty Model Powerboat Club at Thunder Valley, Tauriko on Saturday starting at 10am and continuing on Sunday until 4pm. Saturday is test and tune time with BOP Club records up for grabs for 2 lap sprints and 100m speed. Sunday brings on all the racing, four classes including Sport Petrol Hydro and Open Hydro which will feature some of the fastest oval race boats in NZ. More here
