Police are investigating the cause of a crash in Welcome Bay.

Emergency services were called to the two car collision on Welcome Bay Road, between Kaitemako Road and Meadowviews Drive.

A police spokesperson says they received reports of the crash at 6.26pm.

'Ambulance and Fire and Emergency New Zealand were in attendance.

'One person was injured.”

A St John spokesperson says a woman was taken to Tauranga Hospital with moderate injuries.
