Police will be out in force this long weekend to ensure people aren't flouting the alert level 4 restrictions.
Much like Easter weekend, there will be an increased police presence around the country, including checkpoints along routes to popular holiday destinations.
Over Easter, police issued 64 prosecutions to people breaking the lockdown.
Police Commissioner Andrew Coster says the sacrifices made at alert level 4 had made a real difference, and people must not get complacent.
He says anyone planning to travel to their holiday home, or to visit family and friends this long weekend needed to change those plans and stay home.
