Traffic is expected to be heavy along State Highway 2, in Katikati this morning.

Traffic in both directions is predicted to be busy from 10am this morning to 1pm.

The NZTA are also advising that traffic through the area could also be heavy on Friday, February 7, from 1.30pm to 9.30pm.

'Road users are advised to expect delays and allow extra time for their journeys or consider travelling outside these periods.
