State Highway 25 in the Hauraki district  is closed this afternoon after a two‑vehicle crash involving a truck.

Emergency services were alerted just before midday.

Police said three people have sustained serious injuries, while two others have moderate injuries.

The crash is near the intersection with Hauraki Rd, prompting authorities to shut the highway in both directions.

Motorists are being urged to avoid the area, with diversions now in place.
