A Welcome Bay road in Tauranga is reported to be blocked after a crash.

Photos sent in show a vehicle has struck a tree on Waitaha Rd.

A witness at the scene said the road is blocked.

Emergency services are at the scene.

Police said they were called to the crash at 9.30am after receiving reports of a single vehicle crashing into a tree.

“Police attended. One person is reported to have serious injuries.”
