UPDATED 11.15AM: Emergency services are at the scene of a serious crash involving a car and a truck on the Te Puke Highway,

Police were called about 11am, a police spokesperson says.

"Initial indications are there may be serious injuries.

"The road is closed, with diversions in place.

"Motorists are advised to avoid the area."

"Police and firefighters are at the scene.

"The road is completely blocked."

According to Google Live Traffic reporting, traffic is stopped, just past Pah Road.

People are advised to avoid the area if possible.

Massive traffic delays are being reported on Te Puke Highway.
