A car has crashed over a bank in Bureta this afternoon.
A witness at the scene reports that the driver is safely out of the vehicle and back up on Ngatai Rd where he is talking with Police.
The car appears to have gone off the road, through a fence and dropped straight down onto the property and trees below, stopping in what seems to be a near vertical position.
"The car took out the overhead power cable to the house below," says the witness.
The railing also appears to have been damaged and pulled away.
The car appears to have avoided dropping into houses below.

Reports are coming in of a car crashing over a bank in Bureta.
A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says a car has gone over a bank on Ngatai Road.
The caller says the driver is out of the vehicle and appears to be okay after the car crashed through the fence and went down a bank near the intersection of Bureta Road.
Emergency services have been called to the scene.
A police spokesperson says police were alerted to a vehicle collision on Ngatai Road, Otumoetai, around 3.35pm.
"A car reportedly gone over a bank into a fence.
"It appears one person received minor injuries."

the car crashed over the bank - because the DRIVER lost control - no loss of control by the car , the car would NOT be over the bank if the driver did not lose control of the car !!!!

Often see a lady with a pram going up that hill. Have a good look in the bush. The boy racer should be locked up for many years.
