One person has died following a serious crash in Opotiki.

Emergency services were called to the crash on Waiotahe Beach Road, Waiotahe, at around 7.40am.

A police spokesperson says the crash involved a car and a pedestrian.

'Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
