Motorists are being warned to expect slight delays on State Highway 2, as the installation of safety barriers begins today.

The NZ Transport Agency says the works are taking place between Sharp and Tetley roads.

'Work hours of 9am to 4pm. Stop/Go will be in place.

'The Stop/Go will be no longer than 100 meters at any one time.”

The works are expected to continue through to Monday September 23.

Other works taking place along SH2 include road works from Paeroa to Waihi for pothole repairs.

'Due to road works in this area Stop/Go traffic management is in place. Delays of 5-10 minutes are possible (Potholes/General Cyclic).”

These are expected to be completed around 5pm.

There are also road widening works taking place on SH2, from Waihi to Katikati.

The NZTA says due to road works in this area, contra-flow traffic management is in place.

'Delays up to five minutes are possible.”
