One person is in serious condition after a two-car crash in the Bay of Plenty.
Emergency services are at the scene of a serious two-vehicle crash on Reid Road, Ruatoki, Whakatane.
Police were called at 2.55pm, says a police spokesperson.
"Initial indications are one person has received critical injuries.
"The road is closed and a helicopter has been dispatched.
"Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible."
