One person has sustained minor injuries in a single vehicle crash on Takitimu Drive, near State Highway 29.
A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says it is a "one hell of a mess".
"One car is involved and there is debris all over the road."
Motorists are advised to expect delays as the crash is in the Tauranga-bound lane.
A police spokesperson says a car crashed into a barrier around 8.30am.
"One person sustained a minor injury to their arm."
