Police are continuing to investigate a three car crash in Tauranga.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Ngatai Road, near Chapel Street, just after 8pm.

A police spokesperson says it appears one person sustained serious injuries and another sustained moderate injuries.

'The road was clear by 10.10pm.

'Police continue to make enquiries.”

Anyone with information about the crash, and haven't already spoken with police, can contact Tauranga Police Station on 07 577 4300.

Meanwhile, a Bureta resident has contacted SunLive with concerns about the extreme speeds cars 'hoon down our road”.

Her and many other residents have reached out to Tauranga City Council with requests to put in speed bumps in place, or just any kind of action that could stop people speeding down their street.

'We knew that it was sooner or later that a serious accident would happen, and tonight was the night,” the resident says in an email to SunLive following last night's accident.

'It could have been prevented.”
