Traffic is reported to have returned to "normal flows" following a two cars crashed on State Highway 2 this morning.

Police were called to the crash on SH2, about 1km from the Baypark roundabout, at 6.45am.

A police spokesperson says there were no injuries reported.

'While the road was partially blocked, traffic was able to get past, albeit slowly, and as of 7:15am traffic was reportedly flowing well with traffic management in place.”

The NZTA says the crash scene is now cleared and "normal traffic flows" have resumed.

Police are investigating the crash.
