Some people may have had a rocky start this morning, after an earthquake in the Bay of Plenty.
GeoNet is reporting a quake hit 20km west of Whakatane at 6.49am.
The shaking from the magnitude 3.4 earthquake is being described as "weak".
It had a focal depth of 5km.
According to GeoNet, it is the fourth earthquake to hit the region this morning.
Three others were recorded in the same area from around 3am to 5am.
GeoNet describes the early quake as "unnoticeable".
