Starting from 6am on Sunday April 14, roads in the Tauranga area will be closed due to the Pay What You Want Tauranga Half Marathon.
In a statement from the Tauranga City Council, the roads will be closed from 6am until 12pm on Sunday.
Those roads are:
Tilby Drive – from Waratah Street to the Fergusson Park entry.
Bureta Road – from Ngatai Road to Harbour Drive.
Kulim Avenue.
Harbour Drive.
Beach Road.
Maxwells Road – from Chapel Street to Harbour Drive.
The council also says there will be intermittent lane closures for 10-15 minute intervals from 6.30am to 10am. Those will be in place on:
Waratah Street – from Tilby Drive to Ranui Street (eastbound lane).
Ranui Street – from Waratah Street to Levers Road (southbound lane).
Woods Avenue - from Waratah Street to Beach Road (both lanes).
Otumoetai Road – from Levers Road to Beach Road (both lanes).
Resident access will be maintained throughout the event.
There will be parking restrictions in place from 1am to 11am along:
Waratah Street.
Ranui Street.
Levers Road – from Ranui Street to Otumoetai Road (one side, closed to Pah Street).
Otumoetai Road – from Levers Road to Ngatai Road (one side, closest to Cooneys Drive).
Ngatai Road – from Otumoetai Road to Maxwells Road (one side, on the BP side of the road).
Maxwells Road – from Ngatai Road to Chapel Street.
