State Highway 1 near Tokoroa is closed following a two truck crash.
Emergency services were called to the scene at 3.55pm to find both lanes blocked.
A police spokesperson says one person is trapped in one of the truck cabs, but police do not have any details on inquiry status yet.
'The road will be closed for some time while police wait for a heavy haulage tow to move the vehicles.
'Motorists are asked to take a different route, be patient or observe any diversions put in place.”
