NZTA warning of delays on SH29

Motorists are being warned of delays on State Highway 29 once again.

In a statement released from the New Zealand Transport Agency, it says following the recent expansion of Tauranga Crossing, additional traffic is expected in this area.

'Please allow extra time during peak traffic periods.”

Traffic was backed up all the way to McLaren Falls yesterday afternoon following the grand opening of Tauranga Crossing.

One caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline yesterday, says it took her an hour to get from McLaren Falls Road to Omanawa Road.

Motorists on Takitimu Drive heading towards The Lakes yesterday afternoon, were also stuck in traffic, with one motorist saying they got stuck in traffic before the pedestrian overbridge.
