Police warn of traffic delays along highway

Traffic backed-up on SH29a, between Baypark and Maungatapu.

Police are warning motorists to expect delays around Tauranga today.

Road works are causing traffic disruption on State Highway 29a, says a police spokesperson.

“The journey towards Tauranga, between Bay Park and Oropi, is taking close to an hour.

“Police are advising motorists to take an alternative route to avoid the delays.”

NZTA is advising motorists to expect delays on SH2, near the 15th Ave overbridge.

The roading agency say the left-hand lane is closed with a 50km/h temporary speed limit in force until 4pm today.

The closure is to allow for pavement testing.
