A water shutdown will be taking place at the Tauranga Airport later on tonight.

From 9.30pm till 5am on Tuesday morning the Tauranga Airport will be without water.

In a statement on the Tauranga City Council website, it says the shutdown times are expected to be accurate.

'RZG construction is a Tauranga City Council approved contractor and will be isolating the water supply in the area between the hours shown above.

'The shutdown times are expected to be accurate. However, sometimes circumstances beyond our control, equipment failure or other unforeseen circumstances can cause the shutdown to extend beyond the times stated.

'We apologise should this occur.”
