No one is injured after a helicopter made an emergency landing in a maize paddock near Whakatane.

A police media spokesperson says emergency services were called to the incident near Golf Links road at about 2pm.

'The helicopter landed safely in a maize filed near Gold Links Rd and no one is hurt.”

SunLive understands the helicopter had run out of fuel.

The matter has been handed over to the Civil Aviation Authority, says police.
