A motorcyclist who died in a crash in Rotorua on Thursday has now been named.

He was 47-year-old Thomas Hunuhunu of Rotorua, says police in a statement.

"Thomas died in a motorcycle crash on Devon Street West, Rotorua at around 1.50am on October 11.

"Police extend our sympathies to his whanau and friends."

The Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
