One elderly person has been transported to hospital after a crash on State Highway Two near Whakamarama.

Emergency services were called to the scene near Apata Station Road at 1.10pm.

A police spokesperson says it appears a ute went off the road.

'After that a crash occurred between a car and a truck.”

'Apart from the elderly person getting transported to hospital, it doesn't appear anyone else was injured.”
