The driver of vehicle which crashed through a fence in Mount Maunganui has died.
Emergency services are currently attending the scene of a crash at the intersection of Totara St and Hewletts Rd, Mt Maunganui.
"One vehicle has gone off the road," says a police spokesperson.
"It appears the driver may have suffered a medical event and has passed away."
The death will be referred to the Coroner.
"Traffic is expected to be disrupted and motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible."
