Police are continuing to investigate the crash that happened in Rotorua last night.

A motorcyclist is in a serious condition after hitting a bridge in Hamurana.

A police spokesperson says the crash happened around 6pm and blocked the single lane bridge.

'The road was cleared at 8.10pm and inquiries are ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the crash.”

'The crash happened between Dudley Road and Pyes Pa Road.”
