People travelling along State Highway 2, Omokoroa and Apata, are being warned to expect delays today.

NZTA contractors are carrying out road works in the area from around 10am.

"Stop/go traffic management with a 30km/h speed limit will be in place.

"Expect delays at this site."

The works are expected to be completed around 2pm.

There are also road works planned for State Highway 2, between Waihi and Paeroa today.

NZTA says delays of up to five minutes are possible as culvert cleaning at various sites along the highway is carried out.

From Waihi to Katikati, on SH2, there are pavement repair works taking place. This is predicted to cause five minute delays and stop.go traffic management will be in place.

NZTA expects these to be completed around 5pm.
