UPDATED 11.08AM: One person has sustained minor injuries after being hit by a car in Mount Maunganui.

"Emergency services were called at 10.37am to reports of a car versus a pedestrian crash," says a police spokesperson.

"Police and ambulance attended and one patient has minor injuries.

"The road is not blocked."

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.

EARLIER:

A cyclist is reported to have been hit by a vehicle in Mount Maunganui.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says police are at the scene of the accident at the corner of Hull Road and Totara Street.

"The cyclist is on the ground and looks like he might have leg injuries."

Motorists are advised to expect delays until the scene is cleared.
