What’s on? Love our Laneways and Frocks on Bikes

Good morning SunLive readers and welcome back to another brilliant Bay of Plenty weekend.

The potential for a long fine day of sunshine is looking promising today with MetService forecasting a fine day with light winds for most of the day and cloud coming in at night. The high today is a generous 18°c with a low of 11°c overnight.

And in other highlights of what's to come today is the Frocks on Bikes Suffrage 125 Bicycle Ride which will depart The Elms in Mission Street at 1pm on Saturday, September 15 for a bicycle tour of the historic Te Papa area, followed by a shared picnic afternoon tea.

The ride will celebrate the invention of the modern bicycle in the 1880s and the key role it played in the women's liberation movement.

About 25-30 people are expected to take part in the ride so if you're interested in taking part be sure to meet the crew at The Elms by 1pm or get in contact with the group via their Facebook page.

And if you're not interested in taking part, you can always wave out to everyone along the way.

Plus if you haven't already checked it out the Love our Laneways festival is running in the CBD laneway on Greystreet until the end of today.

The installation has been transformed into public space by local architects and artists.

Grab lunch from one of the food trucks while experiencing art installations, music, community wall art and street performers.

Or you can always check out our What's On calendar to find something you enjoy:
