Police have released the name of the man who was killed after being hit by a truck in Hamilton.
The man and his dog died after being hit by an un-laden truck and trailer unit while walking his dog on Osborne Road, Horsham Downs on Wednesday.
He was 69-year-old David Brian Besley of Horsham Downs, says a police spokesperson.
"Police extend our sympathies to his family and friends."
The Serious Crash Unit and the Commercial Vehicle Safety Team are investigating.
