A person has been taken to Tauranga Hospital with moderate injuries following a crash on State Highway 36.

Emergency services were called to the crash on the highway, near Joyce Road at 1.20pm.

A car and truck crashed on Pyes Pa Road, says a police spokesperson.

The crash originally blocked one lane of the highway.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.

Meanwhile, investigation are also underway into another crash, this time on 15th Ave.

A police spokesperson says the crash was a nose-to-tail.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says firefighters were called to assist with the crash.

There are no reports of any injuries.
