What’s On: A rainy day and Father’s Day activities

File photo.

Happy Sunday and happy Father's Day.

It might not be the sunny day that is was yesterday with MetService predicting morning rain.

There are also chances of thunderstorms with some heavy downpours this morning with that eventually turning into showers.

The high today is 17 degrees with an overnight low of 8 degrees.

If you are looking for that last minute Father's Day gift, why not enter him in the Hairiest Leg Competition.

It is happening from 11am till midday today at Astrolabe so you don't have to worry about getting caught in the rain.

There are a whole range of prizes to be won so make sure you enter your dad for a day of laughs.

Or if you're planning a Father's Day brunch but over-indulged, you might like to head along to the Zumba party class at the Queen Elizabeth Youth Centre on 11th Avenue from 4-5.30pm.

Local Zumba instructor Tina Neville has enticed international Zumba jammer Marlex Pagalunan to town for a 90-minute party class.

Tickets cost $25 at the door. It's indoors so there's no excuse to get off the couch if it's raining!

If none of those activities are what you are into, check out the range of options below:
