UPDATE 6.21pm: One car has hit a median barrier and clipped another car on Tauranga's Harbour Bridge.

A police spokesperson says emergency services were called to the two car crash at 5.32pm.

"The driver of one of the cars is reported to have minor injuries."

"There was some traffic backup in the area."

Earlier:

A car is blocking the right hand lane on Tauranga's harbour bridge.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says that emergency services are responding but the lane is currently blocked.

"Traffic is still able to pass in the left hand lane."
