Fire crews are helping one person out of a vehicle after a car went over a bank.

The crash happened just after 2pm on State Highway 2 and Walker Road East, Aongatete in the Bay of Plenty.

A police spokesperson says it appears two people were in the vehicle.

'Fire are assisting with getting one person out of the car.”

'The road doesn't appear to be blocked and injuries are unclear.”
