Daffodils are beginning to bloom, long fine patches of clear weather seem to be more frequent and the weekends are becoming packed full of events.
You guessed it, spring is nearly upon us and Tauranga is getting amongst the celebrations.
The city has been abuzz already today with a hive of activity in every corner you look and SunLive photographer Nikki South has been there to capture all of the fun.
For the keen runners, walkers and fitness bunnies alike, the morning started with a modest 21km half marathon at Mount Maunganui.
Participants of all ages and abilities took off from the start line at Papamoa from 8.30am and by 10.30am most had already crossed the finish line at Mount Main beach - an impressive feat.

A little down the road is the Women's Lifestyle Expo, at ASB Bay Park Arena.
The event is filled with every type of vendor you can think of including health and wellness experts, foodies, fashion, beauty and many others.
The event is on all weekend too, so make sure to head along.

Then a little closer to the CBD was the official opening of Our Place Tauranga, a beautiful space hidden behind a wall of coloured shipping containers.
Similar to the expo, the place is fill of vendors of all makes and shapes including food, coffee, retailers and even a few community groups.
