UPDATE 3.50pm: Emergency services are responding to a truck that has gone into a ditch in Te Puke.

A police spokesperson says that they were called to the accident on Jellicoe Street at 2.45pm.

"It appears the truck has hit a power pole."

According to the PowerCo website 112 properties are without power.

Estimated restoration at this stage is 7pm tonight.

Emergency services are responding to a truck that has reportedly gone off the road in Te Puke.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says that it happened outside the Pukepine Sawmill in Te Puke.

"It has taken out a power pole and half of Te Puke is without power."
