A celebration of coffee in the CBD

The inaugural Tauranga Coffee festival is at the new CBD pop-up space, Our Place. Photos: Nikki South.

A new pop-up space in Tauranga's CBD is reeling in coffee lovers throughout the city today, as it hosts the inaugural Tauranga Coffee Festival.

‘Our Place', managed by Little Big Markets, is an exciting new pop-up space in the central city for everyone to visit and enjoy.

The Council owned land has been leased to Little Big Events, to help support the transformation of the city centre, bringing more people to the city to work and play.

And driving everyone down to the space this weekend, is the inaugural Tauranga Coffee Festival.

The festival is an eclectic mix of coffee, food and music and is one of the most exciting new festivals to hit Tauranga City. It's running through until 6pm tonight and entry costs $16.25.

SunLive photographer Nikki South was one of many who went along, where queues were lining up to get a taste of what is on offer behind the brightly coloured containers.

to get in though. $16 per person! No wonder it looks empty. Just go to a nice cafe instead.

I guess it's nice, but.......

.......I do believe that coffee is so over-hyped. Seriously., how good can an event be if they are only offering coffee?..yup, I guess I am just a coffee (or tea) slob...but I am more than happy to neck a cup of instant then go do something useful with my life..but hey!..go visit and enjoy, then wonder where your valuable time and $$ went...

Duh

When I arrived and paid $17.00 for entrance, there were far too many people to be evacuated easily in an emergency. TCC, put up or SHUT THE PLACE DOWN!
