A world of LEGO and a weekend of food

File photo.

Good morning SunLive readers and welcome to Saturday.

It's another cold one out there today which follows on the back of what's already been an icy week.

As we reported earlier this week it's looking like we'll be riding it out til the end of the month.

There's no need to fret about the cold when you're indoors though and there's two events today, being held indoors which means you can get out and make the most of your weekend, while keeping yourself nice and toasty.

The first thing to get excited about today, especially if you have kids (or if you're like me and you're an adult-sized version of a kid), is the Brickman Wonders of the World Lego Exhibition.

This is Tauranga's shot to explore a world of LEGO masterpieces made by Ryan McNaught, aka, the Brickman.

There's more than 50 a we-inspiring and never-seen-before models on display today and tomorrow between 10am-5pm at BayPark Stadium Lounge.

Then after you've been there, why not grab lunch at the Seriously Good Foodshow, after all it's just around the corner.

This two-day event has been pegged as the tastiest weekend in the Bay of Plenty and it's all being held at ASB Baypark Arena.

You're bound to be juggling a few different things on your plate with more than 130 exhibitors at the show sharing the latest in innovative products, acclaimed chefs sharing their secrets and delectable food and wine tastings.

Be sure to check back on our site later, where we'll show you highlights of the day's events.

If I've still not interested you by any of these options why not check out what's happening in our calendar below - or rug up and stay warm at home, no one's judging you.
