A high of 14 degrees is expected today with an overnight low of six, with warnings of snow showers for the Desert Road.
Winter is certainly making its presence known with a cool bite in the air.
"Showers are expected to turn to snow near the summit Monday afternoon, then lower to around 700 metres Monday night," says a statement from the MetService.
"Between 3pm Monday and 1pm Tuesday, 3 to 6cm of snow may accumulate near the summit of the road, with lesser amounts down to 700 metres."
The cooler temperatures are expected to last for the rest of the week.
