One of the walking paths of Te Puna Quarry Park is blocked following a rockfall this afternoon.
Western Bay of Plenty District Council staff have erected fences around the outskirts of the slip to prevent public access around the slip area.
A statement on the council website says: "because of expected rainfall the pathway will be closed until the rock fall and remaining overhanging rocks can be safely removed.
"Once this is done the pathway will be reopened."
