This day in history:

We missed an important date yesterday in NZ history. New Zealand chose not to take part in Australian Federation and became the Dominion of New Zealand on 26 September 1907, Dominion Day, by proclamation of King Edward VII. Dominion status was a public mark of the political independence that had evolved over half a century through responsible government.

In world history, on this day in 1066, William the Conqueror set sail for England, and in 1822 the Rosetta Stone was deciphered. In 1905 The physics journal Annalen der Physik published Albert Einstein's paper "Does the Inertia of a Body Depend Upon Its Energy Content?", introducing the equation E=mc². In 1908 Henry Ford's first Ford Model T automobile left the Piquette Plant in Detroit, Michigan

An inspirational quote for today is from Zig Ziglar who said 'The real opportunity for success lies within the person and not in the job.”
