Tauranga's Cult Cinema Club launched on Friday night with a screening of The Big Lebowski.
Held at the newly refurbished Village Cinema in the Tauranga Historic Village, there were only a handful of tickets left for the inaugural event.
The evening started with street food from the Banger Boys NZ, brews from a pop-up licensed bar, and sweet treats from a Sweet As candy bar, followed by the screening of The Big Lebowski at 7.30pm.
Organisers Melanie Mills and Kimberley Cleland were appreciative of the efforts made by the Tauranga Historic Village management staff to have the theatre refurbished in an Art Deco style in time for the launch of the club.
The Cult Cinema Club will be showing films every fortnight on a Friday evening until September, with an extra film planned for Good Friday.
