Good morning SunLive readers, and welcome to your Sunday, which has a much cooler start, but should be pleasant by the middle of the day.
We've had a week of shocking weather, and rumour has it we're in for some more next week.
So make the most of it and get out and about today while you can.
This morning, 1000+ runners and walkers will be doing just that when they participate in the 2017 Tauranga Half Marathon. In order to stage the event safely, some road and lane closures, as well as parking restrictions and boat ramp access restrictions will be in place.
Full road closures
from 6am – 9.30am
Hamilton Street – from Willow Street to The Strand
The Strand – from Harington Street to Devonport Road
Devonport Road – from The Strand to Elizabeth Street
Lane closures
from 6am – 9.30am
Chapel Street (from Marsh Street to Brown Street)
Brown Street (from Chapel Street to Willow Street)
Willow Street (from Brown Street to Harington Street)

Parking restrictions
Some no parking areas will be in place from 1am to 11am:
Waratah Street – full street on both sides
Ranui Street – full street on both sides
Levers Road (from Ranui to Otumoetai Road) – one side, closest to Pah Street

Boat ramp access
The Fergusson Park boat ramp will be closed between 6.30am and 11am. Alternative nearby boat ramps (e.g. Kulim Park) will be operational. Organisers hope that boat ramp users will be able to adjust their plans during this short period of time without too much inconvenience.

If running around isn't your cup of tea, then there's always the opera. Bay of Plenty Symphonia presents a delightful concert of operatic arias, orchestral overtures and interludes at Baycourt Theatre, from 3pm to 5pm. Purchase tickets at Ticketek.
