Performances; from drama to dance, wearable arts and kapa haka, are taking to the stage at Baycourt Theatre tonight as part of Otumoetai Intermediate School's ‘Showcase 2011'.

School principal Henk Popping says the show went well when it opened on Wednesday night and a matinee show held today 'ironed out a few kinks” and is expecting a great show this evening.

See video below for a taste of what is on show at Baycourt tonight.

Henk says the show, which involves about 200 students, has drawn many positive comments about the 'huge talent that we have” at the school.

Today's matinee performance at Baycourt was put on for Year 6 students from the six contributing schools.

'They were just stunned by the talent and the highlight was the lead guitar instrumental in ‘Hotel California' – you could tell many were impressed and looking forward to joining the school's Arts Academy next year.”

Tickets are still available for tonight's 7pm show.
