Aquinas College team 'Wicked Time' is the inaugural mashup winner, claiming $1500 in the process, for its website 'Mates Day Out'.
Wicked Time created an event management web page, where a person could design and plan a day out and check the weather, bus timetable, road plan and even Twitter to let friends know the plan.
Wicked Time receive their prize from Mike Ross from Objective.
Organiser Bruce Fraser says the team won because the judges felt they had followed the brief.
"They also disregarded the mashup tool we provided and coded the whole site themsleves. They had really created a complete mashup of many different sites."
Bruce says he has encouraged the team to see this as "the beginning".
"We are having an afternoon tea to discuss the commerical possibilities of this website. I told the boys to talk to the top IT people here today, to make the most of this opportunity."
Team Mashup Madness from Tauranga Boys' College came in second place and Impact Design from Mount Maunganui finished third.

Team Hikororo.
Team Hikororo say they were one of the teams working into the night, leaving the lab at 8pm on Saturday.
The team's mashup allows urban Maori to search six particular sites to find out about their heritage and whakapapa. The team say they found the competition harder than expected.

Team Anonymous working hard earlier today.

Katikati home schoolers formed the team 'Squeezed Oranges' and are seen here receiving the award for best mashup using a Bay of Plenty Regional Council data source. They are: Quentin Quaadgras, Saul Boyd, Steven Bruining and Lewan Nimick.
