Bay of Plenty Young Fruit Grower of the Year is back again – with four contestants fighting it out for the title on Wednesday.
Hayden Russell, who works on a kiwifruit orchard at Pyes Pa, Todd Martelli, who is studying horticulture at Bay of Plenty Polytechnic, Campbell Wood, vine manager on an organic orchard in Pyes Pa, and Seeka Kiwifruit employee James van Iperen, will battle it out at Baypark in a range of theoretical and practical activities, followed by a speech and quiz in the evening.

Last year's winner, Matthew Greenbank, says the competition is a huge opportunity for up-and-coming people in the horticultural industry.
