PM to visit the Coromandel this week

Prime Minister John Key will be making a flying visiting to parts of the Coromandel electorate this Wednesday.

Coromandel MP Scott Simpson says the Prime minister will meet voters and organisations to talk about a number of topics like regional development and New Zealand's economy to name a few.

'It's always a thrill and a pleasure to have the Prime Minister in the electorate, ' says Scott, 'and while John's only here in the Coromandel for a few hours we try and cram as much as we can.

'He'll discuss a range of topics, issues that are in the forefront of people's minds at the moment, like the Trans Pacific Partnership and I'm sure the new flag is sure to be raised, pardon the pun.”

The Prime Minister's office is keeping tight-lipped about his movements on Wednesday but Scott says Key will make every effort to speak with as many people as he can.

This will also include making himself available for those wanting the now-famous 'Prime Ministerial selfie”.

'I'm just in awe of John's ability and patience, in terms of essentially giving everyone who wants a photo an opportunity to take one. He's always generous with his time and happy to engage with people.”

"That's what I think makes John so fondly regarded by many, many people. He's a pretty down to earth guy.”

So will Scott be one of the masses lining up for a selfie with the Prime Minister?

'No,” he says laughing. 'I have plenty of photos with him already."
