College collects $1000

Bethlehem College is the recipient of a $1000 donation from SBS Bank.

Bethlehem College has received a $1000 donation as part of its bank account scheme.

The donation comes from a monthly draw scheme the bank runs for non-profit organisation account holders.

Bethlehem College sports director Sharon Rutherford says the money and support from the bank assists in the holding of extra-curricular events.

'They have supported our intermediate sports students in their AIMS tournament endeavours with sponsorship and by attending all of the events during the week-long tournament to cheer on our youngsters,” says Sharon.

'They support the PTA-organised school gala at the end of October and are directly involved with our Year 10 enterprise classes who operate businesses at this event.”

The college is one of eight non-profit organisations in the Tauranga area to benefit from the bank's scheme, which has now collectively contributed $17,000 to them.

They are: Otumoetai Tennis Club, Tennis Seniors Western Bay of Plenty Inc, The Parkinsonism Society Tauranga Inc, Omokoroa Golf Club Inc, Katikati Baptist Church, Tauranga Arts Festival Trust, Bethlehem College PTA and Welcome Bay Community Church.
