Plenty of audience support is expected for the six young finalists who will battle it out in the Bay of Plenty Symphonia's Rising Stars concert on September 4.
Each of the talented young people will perform a classical concerto, accompanied by the Symphonia. Listening will be a team of prestigious judges, headed by musicologist and conductor Professor Peter Walls, who will announce the winner at the end of the evening's musical entertainment.

Among the contestants are Andrew Robinson from Tauranga Boys' College and Phoebe Cho from Bethlehem College.
Clarinettist Andrew plays with the NZ Secondary Schools Symphony Orchestra, Tauranga Big Band and his college's Big Band.
He's won prizes including Outstanding Young Clarinettist at the National Jazz Festival.
When he's not practising, football and athletics are on the agenda. Andrew will play the showy first movement of Weber's concerto number one for clarinet.
Beethoven is one of pianist Phoebe's favourite composers and she is ecstatic to perform the lively third movement of his third concerto.
Phoebe has already won competitions in Tauranga and Te Awamutu. She also plays percussion in her school's concert band and orchestra, as well as accompanying its Animoso choir, which recently toured China.
Rising Stars 2015 is on Friday September 4, from 7pm at Graham Young Youth Theatre, Tauranga Boys' College.
